Why Sourdough?

Benefits of Sourdough

Sourdough bread is made from flour, water, and salt that has been allowed to ferment using the wild yeast in the air. Lactic acid is created from this 8-24 hour process, and it breaks down the gluten in the flour, making the bread easier for your stomach to digest. It has a lower glycemic index, too. Eating sourdough even gets some prebiotics into your digestive system!

Kinds of Sourdough

I have 3 kinds of sourdough available:

-regular artisan loaf ($10)
-garlic and herb ($11)
-cranberry pecan ($12)

The cranberry pecan will only be available until the first day of spring, but then my cheddar jalapeño loaf will come out!

How to Enjoy Your Sourdough

The best way to enjoy your sourdough is to just eat a slice, preferably with butter! However, sourdough is fairly versatile and is great used as a perfectly chewy piece of toast, made into a grilled cheese sandwich, fried up as French toast, or served as a side with soup or pasta.

The Dough on Me

In 2018, my friend taught me to make sourdough while my family spent a few days with hers. I fell in love with making delicious bread for my family, especially since my husband didn’t get heartburn from it! Using the best ingredients makes me feel confident that I’m feeding my family the best food that I can prepare. I enjoy the process of taking raw materials and creating something amazing with them. I hope that you can enjoy the end results of that patient labor and feel good, too!
